3rd May Sunday dinner with in laws

Ryann's 2nd Tots class was better then last week but he still cannot sit still at times. He was ok in the beginning but started to fidget when it is the zoo bag segment.

Today, we learned about the letter R - Rabbit. Ryann wasn't interested with the rabbit puppet at all. He started wandering around the room and pointing at the posters (always). Only when we started rolling balls on the floor to introduce the word 'Roll' when he started coming back to the mat and playing with his favorite ball. He enjoyed playing with water sprayed from the bottle spray when they introduced the word 'rain'. Ryann has always been curious about the umbrella and when teacher Wei opened the umbrella, he immediately hided under the shade. One of the funniest parts is when we introduced the word 'raisins'. Teacher Wei gave him a raisin. He didn’t want to eat it (choosy over food); he fed me in my mouth. *Touched.

During the flash cards segment, Ryann tap his lap when we said honey horse. So far I think he knows a few letters such as dee dee deer, honey horse and inny inchworm. At times, he seems to know how to show A,C and E but only when he in good mood. He seems to be able to concentrade when teacher wei joined the letters together to form 3 letter word. Today we learned about Rat. I am not expecting him to understand it but at least with these classes, his eye contact problem improved tremendously. I hope to see improvement in his speech soon.

Today's activities was pretty much challenging for Ryann. Food tasting and labeling. They were asked to taste tomato sauce, marmite and kaya. At the same time they label the food with smiley face or unhappy face to indicate if he like it or not. Ryann just refused to eat them. =(

Class ended with dance using the music player as teacher Russell was on leave. Ryann was jumping and dancing through out.

We collected our zoo phonics cards and went for our gathering dinner with my in laws.

For the first time, Ryann allowed my father in law to carry him. He even refused to come down. My father in law was so happy that he finally gets to have a chance to carry him. Such family gatherings are fruitful meetups to promote bonding between Ryann and them. Hopefully we can meet up more often (without the dog, of cos.)
